Paul Kato Wins Makerere University Guild FDC Primaries, Picks Nomination Form

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Makerere University Chapter has decided to front Paul Kato as their flag bearer in the forth coming University guild elections (2017/2018).

This was according to the results released by the Chapter Electoral Commission after voting which was held at Lumumba hall gardens with Kato leading the race.

According to the results, Paul Kato won with 18 votes (56%), followed by Florence Namuganja with 5 votes (16%), Derrick Gui Obed with 3 votes (09%), Silvestre Sabiti with 1 vote (03%) and 5 voters did not turn up (16%).

After the EC announced the results, the candidates that lost conceded the defeat and promised to back the flag bearer in the guild race. They immediately followed Kato to pick the nomination form from the university guild offices.

“FDC stands for democracy… voters chose the best candidate for the party and I agree that the party is bigger and more important than any individual. The elections were free and fair.” Said Namuganja, the first runner-up.

Kato was given the party Blue Key and moved with a procession to pick the nomination form of which he is to submit in tomorrow before the deadline.
