Gentlemen and ladies, I wish to report to you that Makerere university council is sitting on Wednesday October 21, 2015. Information reaching us indicates that the council members shall be presented to members nominated by the public for the office of the chancellor by the search committee. Among the people interested in the position; Dr. Ezra Suruma the former finance minister, Justice Benjamin Odoki, and Prof Charles Olweny. Makerere university extends deadline for registration & tuition payment

Makerere University has extended the deadline for tuition payment for one more month from the earlier deadline of 5th October 2015. The campus times has also learnt that Makerere university management has accepted to extend the deadline for registration owing to internet connection failures. According to information from the students’ guild, the extension decision  was reached at by management after the Guild request to extend the deadlines. Makerere university Non-Teaching suspend strike

Makerere University non teaching staff both administrative and support staff who have been on strike for close to a month have suspended the industrial action and agreed to resume work. The decision was reached in a joint general assembly held on the evening of Friday 21st August 2015 and  chaired by Mr. Vincent Bigaba, the chairperson of Makerere University Administrative Staff Association (MASA).
