WFP has operations in various parts of the Country.

Job Summary:   The Business Support Assistant (Fleet) will deliver standard business support processes for a specific professional area of work, to facilitate effective service delivery.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide support in the management of drivers and their scheduling and light vehicle fleet inspection and management;
  • Resolve drivers’ issues, including the mechanical aspect of the vehicles, fuel, repair, maintenance etc;
  • Manage the Fleet wave FMS (a WFP Fleet Management database) to optimise fleet management through recording, monitoring/reporting and coordination with field offices;
  • Process purchase requisitions and ensure timely payment to fleet related vendors;
  • Generate vehicle performance reports and data analyses and come up with /results-Oriented solutions and recommendations;
  • Facilitate vehicle maintenance in garages to ensure comprehensive maintenance and repair works at prices as per the contracts provisions;
  • Assist with routine unit activities;
  • Perform any other related assignment as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate for the United Nations UN World Food Programme (WFP) Business Support Assistant (Fleet) job placement should hold a Diploma in any of the following areas: General Administration, Public Administration, Fleet management or related field;
  • At least three years of experience in a busy organisation performing administrative functions preferably in fleet management;
  • Experience in managing specialised databases;
  • Proficiency in both oral and written English
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Applications
