Job Title: Collections and Recoveries Manager

KCB Bank Uganda which is part of KCB Group, East Africa’s largest commercial bank that was established in 1896. KCB Bank Uganda was established in the year 2007 and has grown to become one of Uganda’s top ten commercial banks. Currently KCB Bank Uganda has 14 branches complemented with 16 ATMs spread on Kampala Road, Commercial Plaza, Ben Kiwanuka, Luwum Street, Oasis Mall Sixth Street, Arua, Elgon Masaba, Fort Portal, Gulu, Hoima, Lira, Mbarara and Jinja that offer trade financing, corporate and retail banking services to customers.

Job Summary: The Collections and Recoveries Manager will be responsible for steering and overseeing the Collections and Recoveries team and managing the Special assets portfolio within acceptable limits.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensuring the Non-Performing Assets are contained within acceptable limits.
Quickly reporting to management and other key stake holders the performance of the special assets portfolio on a timely and accurate basis.
Initiate structures and strategies that will enable maximization of recovery efforts from both the Internal recovery team and external recovery agents.
Originate restructure requests for deteriorating assets
Chair the Early alert and recoveries committees and drive the recoveries strategy.
Set clear targets for the recoveries team and measure performance accordingly.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The applicant for the aforementioned Banking career opportunity should possess a Degree in a business related field.
The applicant should have worked for at least three years in a bank, of which at least two years should have been spent in a recoveries and or Credit related role.
Good computer literacy skills, especially Office Suite
The candidate must clearly demonstrate experience and/or ability to lead a team.
Extensive knowledge of the Financial Institutions Act, Mortgage Act, Company’s Act and Consumer Protection Guidelines
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Good documentation and process management skills
Excellent business analytical skills
