Job Summary: The University Registrar will be responsible for the supervision and management of all administrative and operational functions of the Office of the Registrar. The Registrar ensures the integrity, accuracy, and security of all academic records of current and former students; facilitates effective studentregistration and enrollment; builds secure student data files and sets policy and procedure for their responsible use; maintains up-to-date course schedules, catalogs, and final examination schedules; manages efficient use of classrooms; and supervises and maintains the degree audit systems. The Registrar is responsible for all academic aspects of the student journey at the University, from enrolment to graduation including quality assurance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·         The University Registrar will ensure good order and an atmosphere conducive to academic activity by producing timely and accurate statistics, class rosters, grades, certifications and other reports, and will serve as a “watch dog” for academic policies.

·         The job holder will work with other senior professional service staff in relation to student services to support a progressively better student experience, in support of the University’s strategic aims.
·         He/ She will bring relevant, senior experience of student administration and support, combined with an excellent understanding of the student journey and how it can be enhanced through the provision of first class customer service and support.
·         The Registrar will be responsible for collecting, recording, maintaining and reporting of student records
·         The University Registrar will manage the processes for the articulation of verification of results, transfer credits, graduation and certification of degrees, and production of official transcripts, diplomas, and Certificates within NCHE guidelines
·         The incumbent will also produce class and examination schedules which, as much as possible, serve the needs and preferences of faculty and students and will ensure that the condition of the classrooms meets the needs of quality instruction. In addition the Registrar will assist the faculty in its teaching through the administration of the teacher evaluation process.
·         The University Registrar will supervise and monitor performance of Registry /admissions staff
·         He/she will problem solve the research, analysis and resolution of student disputes as they relate to records and registration
·         The University Registrar will participate in professional development activities and serve on University committees that support the goals and objectives of the University.
·         The incumbent will provide back-up for all records in the registry department, answer phone calls, and work on special University events
·         Perform any other duties that may be assigned to him/her professionally from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
·         The ideal candidate should preferably hold a good Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
·         At least three years of successful supervisory experience in a people-oriented environment
·         A minimum of three years’ experience of working directly with students in an academic environment will be an added advantage.
·         Broad knowledge and understanding of the application of technology to deliver Records and Registration services.
·         Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty Deans and cross-functional teams
·         He/she should be highly organized and be able to pay attention to detail
·         A positive attitude and ability to plan and adapt to change
·         Working knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
·         Strong leadership and decision making skills
·         Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
·         Good team leader and a team player.
