President Museveni drove a Toyota Noah which uses Ethanol power car (Waragi) made out of Sugari guru, maize, cassava, an alternative of petroleum fuel before launching the students’ loan scheme.

The vehicle’s engine was modified by the Faculty of Mechanical & Production Engineering at Kyambogo University.

The innovation is geared towards saving. A litre of Ethanol is two times cheaper than petrol.

The government allocates Ugshs 297 billion each year for Scientific research and innovation.

The president launched the students’ loan scheme on 24th April at Kyambogo university.

The Government put a side funds worth 5b shillings for the loan scheme to cater for 1,000 students at undergraduate level.
