The students who were arrested earlier this week for participating in a strike have been released on bond.
The students turned unruly opposing the university’s new fees policy that requires students to pay 60% of the total fees within six weeks from the start of the semester.
The released students were identified as John Dyambaki, Dickson Adomati, Ivan Bowe, Bashir Kabuye, Geoffrey Mutagobwa, David Baala, and three others.
They had been detained at different police stations that included Wandegeya, Kira road and Kawempe for alleged incitement of their fellow students to violence.
The students have promised to come up with a new strategy of fighting the policy if the university fails to respond to their petition in time.
