Burundian refugee tests positive for corona virus in Uganda

The victim has been identified as a 46 year old Burundian refugee who entered Uganda through Tanzania.  This makes Uganda’s corona virus case rise to 56.

According to a tweet from Ministry of Health, the man is quarantined in Rakai. Yesterday, the Ministry carried out 1,177 samples and one was positive.

Discharged

Yesterday 10 more patients were discharged making the total number of discharged/recovered patients 38. This leaves Uganda’s total active cases at 18. The Ministry indicates that the discharged patients have tested negative twice.

Uganda has not registered any Covid 19 deaths.
