The church of Uganda (C.O.U) has held a goodbye service bidding farewell to the outgoing vice-chancellor of Uganda Christian University (UCU), Rev Canon Dr. John Ssenyonyi.

In a service that was held on Sunday 23th/08/2020, the Archbishop Church of Uganda the Most Rev Samuel Stephen Kazimba Mugalu appreciated Dr. John Ssenyonyi for his 10 years’ service at the UCU.

“I want to give thanks to God for rev canon Dr john Ssenyonyi and Mama canon Dr. Ruth Ssenyonyi for the work they have done in Uganda Christian University(UCU), we are so grateful. Said the archbishop.

Rev Canon Dr. John Ssenyonyi joined in 2001 as a university chaplain, 2003 deputy vice-chancellor finance and Administration, 2010 he was appointed as the vice-chancellor of UCU.

Dr. Ssenyonyi has been succeeded by Dr. Aaron Mushengyezi who had been the Dean Department of languages, literature, and communications at Makerere University was appointed on February 1st 2020.
