The General Court Martial in Makindye has released NUP supporters, Buken Ali aka Nubian Li and Edward Ssebuwufu commonly known as Eddie Mutwe on bail.
The released were arrested last year on 30th December while on Campaign trail in Kalangala with their presidential candidate at that time, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine who is the president of the National Unity Platform, a political party in Uganda.
NUP has confirmed in a statement today that all their members who were arrested in Kalangala have been released.
“All our comrades who were arrested last year from Kalangala have been released on bail. These have spent six months while under detention for no crime whatsoever. Thanks to our legal team and everyone who has worked tirelessly to ensure these comrades regain their freedom,” NUP said.
