When you read “Face of MUK” what would probably come to your mind is a beauty pageant search for a ‘Miss Makerere’ of sorts, however there’s more to that than just beauty.
According to Justine Nsimbi, the Women Affairs Minister Makerere University Guild and also president for this campaign, Face of Muk is a project in search for a topnotch talented MUK ambassador to foster the breast cancer and HIV/AIDS awareness campaign among different institutions in the country.
“We are looking for that one talented girl who is innovative to run a campaign under the theme of Breast Cancer and HIV/AIDS awareness; it’s not about beauty but talent and ability to run this campaign” said Justine Nsimbi
It’s the first of its own and has so far had an overwhelming response from interested participants depicted during the grand auditions last Friday at Makerere University Swimming pool as contestants exposed different talents that saw 9 go through to the finals.
It has carried out different series of campaigns including the BREAST CANCER RUN on 28th last month the freedom square, Makerere.
Each year will have a new “FACE OF MUK” under a new theme and with time it will be open to both genders.
The grand finale for Face of MUK will be held on 27th March 2015 at Makerere University Freedom square
Radiant is one of the sponsors and is offering salon services to the participants of Face of MUK. They also previously offered free salon services to girls in halls of residence as a way of creation awareness about the whole project.
