With no Ugandan artist on the list, the Black Entertainment Television network has announced nominations for the 2021 awards.

The organisers of the Awards disclosed this on their official Instagram account  on 27th May 2021,  “We are back and excited to bring culture’s biggest night, the 2021 ‘BET Awards,’ safely back to Los Angeles to celebrate this year’s incredible roster of nominees” they Posted

The event will   be aired live on June 27th 2021 and only vaccinated individuals to be part of the live audience.

Tanzanian musician Diamond Platinum was the only musician from East Africa nominated for the best International act and will be contesting with other African stars like wizkid and Burna Boy.

The Black Entertainment Television network annually recognizes artists, entertainers, and athletes across multiple categories.

In its twenty-first year, the BET Awards is the ultimate platform to showcase the best, brightest, and most beautiful aspects of the Black experience – celebrating Black music’s present and future, elevating the culture, and being a driving force for social change.
