Italy Espresso Lovers Lift Uganda Coffee Exports

Demand for Ugandan coffee in Italy, has helped increase exports of Ugandan beans to the highest in at least 30 years.

In August, Uganda overtook Vietnam to become the second-largest supplier of coffee to Italy for the first time this year, behind Brazil. Uganda is Africa’s biggest coffee exporter and the continent’s second-largest producer of the beans after Ethiopia. Ugandan authorities have attributed the success to improved quality of their beans. .
