Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacant posts in Kaberamaido District Local Government and Town Council. Interested applicants should note that: Applications should be submitted in triplicate on Public Service Commission Form 3 (2008) Revised and addressed to the Secretary, District Service Commission, P.O. Box 94, Kaberamaido.

Application forms are obtainable from the District Service Commission offices in the respective Districts and Public Service Commission offices, 2nd Floor, Farmers’ House, on Parliament Avenue, Kampala. Applications should bear the title of the post as well as the reference number specified against the vacancy.

Applicants should attach three sets of photocopies of their certificates and testimonials, plus three recent coloured passport size photographs and a day time telephone contact number. Serving officers MUST route their applications through their Heads of Departments who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delays.

a) KABERAMAIDO TOWN COUNCIL

Job Title : Senior Treasurer – (Re-advertised) 1 Vacancy

Salary Scale : U3
Reports to : Town Clerk
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains control of main and subsidiary accounts; Supervises and controls revenue collection and expenditure; Verifies financial documents and payments to avoid forgeries and fraud; Prepares periodic financial statements and reconciliation; expenditure estimates for the Council; Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Person Specifications for the job:
EITHER: An Honors Bachelors Degree in either Commerce (Accounting option) or Business Administration (Accounting option) or Business Studies (Accounting option) or Finance and Accounting, PLUS a Post graduate Diploma in Financial Management or Business Administration from a recognized Institution;

OR: Full professional qualification in Accountancy such as ACCA, CPA, ACIS and CPE obtained from a recognized awarding Institution/body accredited by ICPAU; Plus a minimum of a Post graduate Diploma in Financial Management or Business Administration from a recognized Institution;

Should have at least 3 years of relevant working experience as Treasurer/ Accountant or Finance Officer in public or a reputable organization

Job Title : Senior Community Development Officer – (1 Vacancy)

Reports to : Town Clerk
Key Duties and Responsibilities.
Coordinates the effective delivery of gender, culture and community based services in the Urban Council; Supervises gender, culture and community centres and other community establishments; Monitors and evaluates the effective implementation of National and local laws and policies on gender, labour and social development;
Advises Council on matters regarding gender, culture and community social developments; Liaises with NGOs, Community Based Organizations and other stakeholders on matters regarding gender, culture and community development; w Monitors and evaluates gender, culture and community awareness and involvement in socioeconomic development initiatives;

Prepares and submit periodic reports on activities; Performs any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Person Specifications:
An Honours Degree in Arts, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Rural Development studies or Social Work and Social Administration or any related field from a recognized University or Institution Should have a working experience of at least 3 years at a level of a Community Development Officer in government or equivalent level of experience in a reputable organization in the field of social development or community-based services.

Job Title : Land Supervisor- (1 Vacancy)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Scrutinizes building plans and recommends for their approval or rejection;
Supervises the construction of new structures and reports illegal constructions to the Senior Engineer; Prepares and submit periodic reports on activities and performs any other duties

Person specifications
A Diploma in either Land Surveying; Land Management or Urban Planning from a recognized training institution.

Person Specifications
Should have a Diploma in Social Development, Social Work and Social Administration, Development studies, from a recognized awarding institution.

Job Title : Psychiatric Clinical Officer (Re-advertised) – 1 Vacancy

Reports to : Senior Medical Officer / Medical Officer

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Plans and budgets for psychiatric clinical activities in the Health Centre; Diagnoses, treats and refers patients with mental illness; Participates in community sensitization about mental health and participate in research activities;

Must have a Diploma in Mental Health from a recognized Institution, must be registered with and licensed by the Allied Health Professionals Council
