Kabaka Muteesa’s vintage rolls royce car which has been kept in the museum for a long time has been returned to Buganda by the government.
the car was returned after a many negotiations and Tom Butime, the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities revealed that the decision was inspired by the Kabaka Ronald Mutebi’s request to the president.
Prince David Kintu Wasajja who represented the kingdom said the vehicle is of much significance to the kingdom and thanked the government for understanding the pain of the Kabaka Mutebi and Buganda at large.
“We are glad that you are able to understand Uganda’s pain.This is a victory for diplomacy and I think a lot our issues and problems can be solved through diplomacy,”he said.
The car was taken to the kingdom headquarters where the Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga received it and he promised to refurbish it so that the Kabaka would make use it during his official duties.
