KIU, April & August 2020 Intake Students’ Orientation to be held 7th December

The Office of Students’ Affairs Kampala International University(KIU) has announced that students that reported in the April and August intake this year will be officially welcomed into Uganda’s leading private university in a grand orientation ceremony starting at 8am on Monday 7th to Wednesday 9th December 2020.

The Dean of Students KIU, Mrs Busingye Kampemuka Schola, said on Wednesday that the main purpose of having the orientation ceremony is to emphasize the observance of standard operating procedures against the COVID-19 pandemic, introduce the new students to a new life of university as well as guiding them on the code of conduct and freedoms recommended by the university administration.

She added that this year’s orientation ceremony will be different from other years because of uncertainties caused by COVID-19 pandemic. She explained that dividing the orientation ceremony into three phases would help the university administration to achieve the required number of people per sitting as advised by the government through the Ministry of Health.

”Things are surely very different this year as you all can see. Because we have to safe guard our stakeholders from COVID-19, we decided to organise the orientation ceremony in order to at least have 200 attendants per session,” Schola explained.

Apart from emphasizing Standard operating Procedures against COVID-19, students will also receive guidance from key university administrative offices such as Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Finance and Administration, Academic Affairs, Quality Assurance, and the university library among others.
