KIU Vice Chancellor Dr. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo, askes Government to Switch on Social Media for effective Online classes

While speaking to a local media house, Dr. Mpezamihigo asked the government to lift the shutdown on social media if online learning is to be successful.

The Vice-Chancellor of Kampala International University, Dr. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo said that  university  faces a big challenge to coordinate students.

He add that  social media platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook ease communication between the lecturers and the students.

Dr. Mpezamihigo added that the government should consider reinstating the use of social media if online teaching is to happen efficiently.

The Vice Chancellor’s remarks came after the National Council for Higher Education last notified the universities and other institutions of higher learning to stay closed for the next three months.

In the letter that was issued, universities and other institutions of higher learning where advised to continue studying online using the ODel system
