Kyambogo University has secured 400M to embrace digital learning. This is meant to set up an online platform to help students continue studying from home.
Covid 19 has come with many challenges but also great solutions as developments. Schools and Universities are among the sectors hit hard by the pandemic and the different stake holders are finding ways to continue offering education even when the students are home.
Dr John Okuonzi,Executive Director for the Directorate of Information Communications and Technology management has permitted the decision and the university is ready to go digital.
“The money will also be used to train lecturers, acquire the necessities to go digital as well as prepare the students,”he said.
Peter Magezi a student said that this is a good initiative to keep them studying but it may be unfair for students from poor families who may not afford data, those without smart phones or laptops as well as those from places with poor network.
