Makerere University students are battling it out with anti riot police over the new tuition policy. The fees policy which the students say is unfair, requires one to pay 60% of the total fees by March.
Most of the roads around Makerere were closed with logs and stones as dissatisfied students matched to the main building with play cards reading “We need time to pay tuition” .
The students want the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dumba Ssentamu to explain why the policy was passed without consulting the students.
