Makerere University College of Computing and Information Sciences, CoCIS, will for the first time host the international AFRICOMM conference on 24 – 25th Nov. 2014.
AFRICOMM, is an annual conference that brings together IT experts from all over the continent and beyond to share the latest research and innovations.
The conference shall showcase several research papers which will look at challenges faced in adopting e-services and establishment of e-infrastructure for developing countries.
The keynote address for the 6th AFRICOMM conference at CoCIS will be given by Dr. F.F. Tusubira (Tusu), the CEO of Ubuntunet Alliance, and Board Chair of the National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U) board.
His address will examine some of the challenges developing countries face in implementing and/or adopting e-services, and propose approaches that would improve the chances of success.
Also of key interest will be the particular students’ innovations in addressing societal concerns in Agriculture, Business, Health, Security, Education and Climate Change.
