Lt Gen James Mugira, the Managing Director of the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), has commended progress on the construction of the Lira University Teaching Hospital Administration Block in Lira City.
The project, being undertaken by NEC Construction Works and Engineering Ltd (NEC Works), a subsidiary of NEC, aims to boost medical training and improve health service delivery in northern Uganda.
During an inspection visit on Thursday, Lt Gen Mugira was received by Eng Brian Buhanda, the General Manager of NEC Works, who led him through the site and gave an update on the works. He was accompanied by senior NEC officials, including Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi, General Manager of Luwero Industries, Eng Simon Terwane, General Manager of NEC Agro, and Maj Edgar Ankwasa, General Manager of NEC Uzima.
Lt Gen Mugira praised the project team for their efforts and reaffirmed NEC’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure. He said the administration block will enhance Lira University’s capacity as a teaching hospital and expand access to advanced health services in the northern region.
