During this pivotal session, Professor William Bazeyo, a distinguished physician and public health specialist, was elected as the 5th Chairperson of Busitema University Council.

In addition to Professor Bazeyo’s appointment, other key positions were filled. Hon. Dr. Beatrice Wabudeya was elected as Vice Chairperson, while Ms. Rosemary Mutyabule, a Council Appointee, was named Chair of the Appointments Board, among others.

Profile of Professor William Bazeyo

Professor William Bazeyo is a seasoned academic and public health expert with a career spanning over two decades. Prior to his election at Busitema University, he served as the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Finance and Administration at Makerere University from 2017 to 2020. His tenure also included eight years as Dean of the Makerere University School of Public Health, where he played a key role in the formation of the Higher Education Alliance for Leadership Training for Health in 2005.
