The Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE) has signed a memorandum of collaboration, cooperation, advocacy and lobbying with the Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP) in Karachi, Pakistan, focused at boosting partnerships in business between the two parties.

 

 

 

Mr. Douglas Opio, the Chief Executive Officer, FUE together with Mr. Syed Nazar Ali, the Secretary General EFP, have been the main signatories to the agreement on behalf of the employers’ organisations.

 

The great milestone has been presided over by the Federal Minister of Commerce in Pakistan, Mr. Jam Kamal Khan as the Chief Guest , accompanied by other dignitaries like Mr. Zubair Motiwala, Executive Director Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Majyd Aziz, the Former President EFP, Dr. Elly Kamugisha, the Executive Director Uganda Export Promotion Board and Mr. Shaffi Manafa, the Head of Membership at FUE.

 

The MOU, was also signed in recognition of the 2nd Pakistan Food and Agricultural Exhibition organised by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan.

“The agreement is an opportunity to increase investment opportunities, Business to Business (B2B) partnerships between FUE and EFP members in Uganda and Pakistan respectively, to promote benchmarking of best business practices and provide mutual support on membership products and services for the respective members affiliated to FUE and EFP.”

 

 

This initiative taken by FUE and EFP seeks to promote Pakistan Business relations in Uganda and other african countries that are expected to supersede $10 billion by June 2026, said the signatories.

 

 

As the premier voice of employers on social and economic issues in Uganda, the FUE believes that the collaboration with EFP will strengthen business entities, promote decent work and also create a conducive business environment for international and multi-national organisations.

 

 

However, FUE looks forward to future collaborations to fostering bi-lateral trade and boost the economic growth.
