As the light turn on court. Unlike football, basketball seems to attract more funs and sponsors. During the early 80’s, basketball in Uganda did not attract as many funs as it does today, and a few could a penny to watch.

Now basketball has planted a profound background starting from schools trying to feed the national team. Recently, the Ugandan National team participated in the FIBA Africa Zone 5 AFCON Qualifiers. Unfortunately Uganda lacked a variety of players to choose from which contributed to the team’s poor performance.

On   5th/02/2013 there was a training session at Makerere University basket ball court to monitor and mentor the would be good upcoming players to feed the National team.

Since Uganda lacks enough training courts, Basket ball games are always played at education institutions. The Uganda national basket ball has two divisions; division one and two.

DIVISION ONE 11TEAMS INCLUDE: Makerere University, Ndejje University, Kyambogo warriors, Power, Rezlite, Stormers, UCU Canons, Mogas falcons, Miracle, Vegetarians and Nkumba Marines.

AND DIVISIN TWO12 TEAMS INCLUDE: Bush court, City oil, Diamond, Gulu hawks, JVC, kings, KIU among others.
