Ultimate Media Consult, US mission Uganda offer Multimedia and Digital Skills to Journalists, Journalism Lecturers and Students

When talking about successful partnerships one can’t fail to mention one between the US Mission Uganda Chapter and Ultimate Media Consult who have teamed up  provide multimedia and digital skills training to journalist, lectures and journalism students

This journey that begun in 2019 has seen the team train many students from various universities like Islamic University In Uganda (IUIU) Mbale, Cavendish, Kampala International University(KIU), Uganda Christian, university (UCU) plus several journalists from various media houses.

Mr. Gerald Businge  team leader Ultimate Media Consult with the  help of MS Dorothy Nanyonga  the information’s assistant at the US Embassy Uganda both said that ,there was need to equip journalists, lectures and media students with multimedia skills. This is to enable them tell stories in formats that users can access on computers and phones while remaining safe and secure .

Indeed the tireless efforts of the Ultimate media team are clearly displayed in the way they interact with their learners ,its all about making the person you train understand and put into practice what they are taught believes Gerald.

In his remarks Tony kunjawa the US Embassy spokesperson said “their core purpose is to communicate US society, values and culture to their different working environments here in Uganda”. They do it in various ways of funding different projects like education and trainings programs hence the funding of Ultimate media consult.

Mr. Edward Tumwine  the training and mentor-ship manager said “they believe that to empower the journalists, train the one who trains journalists”. A job they have been successfully doing for the past three years
