Nkumba University Football Club (NUFC) resumed the August Semester training with over 20 sports talented men and women seeking for scholarships.
NUFC holds trials where gifted footballers from which half and full scholarships are granted to those who qualify. The scholarships are aimed at strengthening Nkumba university sports teams.
A number of Freshers have been seen carrying bags on their backs every evening to chase for the golden opportunity.
Prior in last week’s training sessions, The Campus Times spotted 15 new faces on the pitch but the number has increased to 23 in the second week of training.
The trials are carried out under the watchful eyes of the Head Coach ,Ssebuliba Patrick and Doctor Emmanuel Amagu.
Nkumba University Football Club vies in the National University Football League and will play against Makerere University next month in on the quarter final games.
The team will also feature in the biannual East Africa-University competitions and this years’ edition will be hosted by Uganda Christian University (UCU) in Mukono.
