DFCU Limited was started by the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) of the United Kingdom and the Government of Uganda through the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) under the name of Development Finance Company of Uganda Limited. Later restructuring brought in DEG (of Germany) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) as equal partners with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake in the company. Its objective was to support long-term development projects whose financing needs and risk did not appeal to the then existing financial commercial lending institutions.

Job Summary: The Receptionist is responsible to ensure all walk-in visitors are welcomed and dealt with appropriately in the reception area while presenting a professional image for the organization. The receptionist is also responsible to greet appropriately all main switchboard incoming callers and deal with or redirect calls/queries. The Receptionist will work closely with the general public in order to ensure the smooth operation of the reception area and switchboard.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate should hold a good Bachelor’s degree
Two or more years+ receptionist/switchboard operator experience;
Customer service experience will be advantageous.
Skills in relationship management
Verbal and written communication skills
Customer orientation
Good problem solving skills
Telephone etiquette
Time management
Accuracy
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
Proficient in all relevant ATCSA Systems
Professional image aligned to brand
