Job Title: Security Manager

KCB Bank Uganda which is part of KCB Group, East Africa’s largest commercial bank that was established in 1896. Over the years, the Bank has grown and spread its wings into Tanzania, South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi completing the East African circuit in the year 2012. Today, the Group has the largest branch network in the region with over 238 branches, 950 ATMs and 8,000 agents offering banking services on a 24/7 basis in East Africa. KCB Bank Uganda was established in the year 2007 and has grown to become one of Uganda’s top ten commercial banks. Currently KCB Bank Uganda has 14 branches complemented with 16 ATMs spread on Kampala Road, Commercial Plaza, Ben Kiwanuka, Luwum Street, Oasis Mall Sixth Street, Arua, Elgon Masaba, Fort Portal, Gulu, Hoima, Lira, Mbarara and Jinja that offer trade financing, corporate and retail banking services to customers.

Job Summary: The Security Manager will be responsible for the oversight of Physical Security and Safety of KCBU Premises, Assets, Employees and Customers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the Implementation of KCB Bank Group security policy, enforcement of standards, controls, processes and regulatory procedures for Physical Security and Safety.
  • Develop and execute the annual Security Plan and budget within approved limits.
  • Develop and maintain Business Continuity, Risk, and Compliance Management & Regulatory Controls for Business Requirements regarding Security and Safety.
  • Relationship Management and engagement of Key Stakeholders: Head of Operations, Security Service Providers including Guarding and Electronic Security, Law Enforcement Agencies like Police, Intelligence, Branch Managers and Statutory bodies.
  • Steer the Security Programs and Initiatives during the business cycle.
  • Incident Management and Reporting of Physical and Safely matters (e.g. Emergency Responses, Crisis Management, Investigations, Crime Scene Management).
  • Oversight Management of Electronic Security Systems (Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, Metal Detectors, Turnstiles).
  • Prepare and present Security Briefing, Analysis

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business / Security Related Field OR Specialized Certification, Completed Military, Police Service/Experience is an added advantage
  • Completion/Part Completion of relevant professional qualification in Security Management/Strategic Management is an added advantage
  • Past experience in Senior Law Enforcement; military/police/intelligence)
  • Significant experience in Security Management in Banking or Corporate)
  • Prior experience in investigations
  • Excellent Planning & Organizing capabilities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong Commercial awareness.
  • Good Analytical skills and attendance to details.
  • Stress tolerance.
  • Good peoples skills.
  • Innovative, Self Driven and Flexible to longer working hours.
  • Supervisory and/or decision-making ability is preferred.
