ISBAT Wins UCC Inter University Cyber Competition

ISBAT University Kampala won the Inter-University Cyber Competition that was organized by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).

Over 250 students across 11 universities participated in the cyber stars competition, and ISBAT University students emerged victors.

52 students reached the finals and these were from ISBAT University, Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU), Uganda Christian University (UCU), Bishop Stuart University (BSU), Kampala International University (KIU), Bugema University, Busitema University and St Lawrence University.

The top 6 students of the cyber star competition 2022 came from ISBAT University and St Lawrence University.

Each of these students won a professional training in cyber security worth USD600, and a mi-fi.

The Cyber star competition was organized to provide a virtual space for students to learn more about cyber security and develop their tech skills.

While speaking to the participants, Irene Kagwa Ssewankambo, the UCC acting executive director said that the increasing internet connectivity and adoption of digital services increases the available attack surface and potential accessibility of Ugandan information infrastructures and networks.

The Cyber star competition 2022 was organized by Uganda Communication Commission (UCC).
