Job Title: Accountant

Professional Skills:  Accounting, Audit, Financial Skills – Data and Statistical analysis skills – Research skills – Computer skills; Applicants should be conversant with Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Job Description: Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, as well as preparing reports. Key responsibilities include;
– Summarizing current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
– Substantiating financial transactions by auditing documents.
– Maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
– Guiding accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
– Documenting financial transactions by entering account information.
– Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
– Securing financial information by completing data base backups.
– Maintaining financial security by following internal controls.
– Preparing payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.

Position Requirements

– A minimum of a degree in accounting, finance, economics or any relevant field
– At least 2-5 years’ work experience
– Strong business knowledge
– Applicants should be able to manage profitability
