Job Summary: The Sales Manager – Lead Generator Team will support Barclays Bank in delivering strong retail business performance through leadership of a number of Lead Generators. The incumbent will also be responsible for the overall performance of the Lead Generator team and achieving specific sales, service, and operational rigour targets. The job holder will be ensuring the quality of sales to minimise impairment and provisions to the acceptable standard.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Providing Powerful Leadership: 35%
·         Build, develop and motivate a high performing team committed to achieving as individuals
·         Ensure that all team members are developed to achieve their maximum potential whilst coaching them to build their awareness of their strengths/development needs
·         Support in recruiting to fill manpower gaps within Lead GeneratorModel at appropriate levels
·         Manage poor performance in line with contract of employment
·         In the way you lead on a daily basis, be a role model for your people, do things wholeheartedly, communicating with passion and enthusiasm embracing change as a way of working
·         Creating an empowering environment for your people encouraging individual ownership, initiative and challenge of the status quo
·         Pursue your own development to increase personal effectiveness acknowledging strengths and areas for developments
·         Continuously weed out poor performers in line with the contracts.
·         Create a good working environment thus keeping staff turnover to an acceptable level (less than 2% regrettable losses).
2. Driving Business Direction: 35% Implement the BARAF DST retail strategy for the team, as agreed with the HODS, through the achievement of:
·         Company: hitting all sales and income targets for your team
·         Controls – being in control of our business. Ensure 100% KYC & Rigour Compliance while minimising impairment. Continuously improving the sales process to make it effective to meet bank objectives.
·         Customer – putting the customer in the centre of all we do and resolving customer queries within SLA.
Sales growth and income contribution
·         Working closely with the team to achieve sales and service targets through Lead Generator strategy and provide feedback thereon
·         Take part in change management activities as required
3. Team-working: 10%
·         Work closely with the Lead Generators to deliver exceptional individual performance
·         Responsible for performance management directly for assigned Lead Generators
·         Provide cover for other Sales Managers.
·         The incumbent will provide ongoing coaching, counselling and feedback to own team.
·         Identify and recommend training needs and have plans to satisfy needs.
4. Community: 5%
·         Participate in local community events and networking opportunities (e.g. clubs, meetings, business associations)
·         Identify community initiatives to become involved in and support as part of Barclays community initiatives (such as Make a Difference Day, Local community initiative, Financial Literacy)
·         Link community initiatives to both business opportunities and colleague events
·         Actively promote community agenda within the branch to build pride within colleagues and customers
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·         Applicants must hold an A level certificate or equivalent with good pass in Mathematics and English. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree is desired.
·         A minimum of two years’ experience in a sales role / position, at least 18 months.
·         Prior exposure and experience in banking
·         Broad knowledge of all Barclays product that are on offer including pricing Knowledge.
·         Detailed working knowledge of policies and procedures
·         Thorough understanding of the financial services industry.
·         Excellent sales track record in financial services industry.
·         Detailed knowledge and understanding of Barclays Bank’s segmentation framework and value propositions.
·         Working knowledge of the specific BARAF retail product set and service
·         Detailed understanding of the retail network business processes and operating procedures.
·         Good understanding of BARAF relevant risk policy
·         Understanding of the local competitor market.
