Ndejje University Closes on East African Universities'Title

Day four at the 8th East Africa University games climaxed with the best saved for the track and field that witnessed numerous finals at the main stadium of Tanzania.
As expected, Ndejje university was by news time in the ascendancy with eight gold medals but was closely pursued by Kampala University on five.
Ndejje picked gold in the ladies 10000 meters Annet Kibet;men’s 5000 Thomas Rono,Patrick Kibwota javelin,Johnson Anywar 400m,Prim Twikirize ladies steeple chase(3000).
Kampala University will have to be proud by the achievements of Winnie Nnayondo who in her maiden 5000 meters final won gold to add on the sprints she dominated.
Mention must be made of UCU’s Ivan Wesonga who seems to be practicing to out compete Usain Bolt. He won gold in 100,200 and 400M;
Swimming has also been decided with Kampala international university emerging overall winners with 11 golds and was followed by Kenyatta on ten while Ndejje came fourth on four golds.Makerere university once a giant in that area managed only one gold and was finish in that area.
Badminton is at the quarter finals where Uganda;’s Ndejje, KIU, Busitema men are in. Ladies-UCU and Ndejje and Kyambogo. Nkumba University has scooped gold in netball.
Basketball is still close but UCU and Ndejje lead the way with UCU ladies in the semis while the men are in the quarter. The biannual.games end Tuesday but intervention of Ugandan administrators has saved the hosts of an organizational mishap.
