NSSF Career Expo Kicks off at Makerere University Business School

The National Social Security (NSSF) Career Expo aimed at equipping university students with knowledge and skills to start and sustain profitable careers has kicked off.

The first NSSF Career Expo for the year 2018 was held at Makerere University Business School on Tuesday 06th March 2018.

While speaking to students at MUBs, Richard Byarugaba, NSSF Managing Director said the career expo gives university students the opportunity to explore different career options and gain practical knowledge on how to sustain their careers.

It also looks at how people can save in their professional lives.

The Expo will run for a period of two months; from 6th March 2018 to 12th April 2018.

A number of topics are listed for discussion across the different universities in Uganda. These include;

  • Jobs of the future and taking the right path
  • Enterprise development
  • Finding your place in the crowd,
  • Building a strong career foundation and how to work your way to the top
  • Building a personal brand
  • How to prepare for a job interview
  • Internship opportunities and job placements

Eleven Universities universities are to benefit from the Expo. They include; Makerere University Business School, Makerere University, Kyambogo University, Kampala International University

Nkumba University, Ndejje University, Mutesa I University, Uganda Martyrs University,Nkozi, Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), Islamic University in Uganda and Gulu University.

Philimon Badagawa

Philimon Badagawa is a multimedia journalist with skills in news gathering, packaging, editing and online publishing. He has knowledge in data visualization, can design and manage websites. He previously worked as a journalist with Observer media and authored several articles and stories. He does research, video & audio recording, editing and production for online publication. He Participated in The New Dawn photography campaign aimed at rebranding Northern Uganda-USAID/NUTI Project (2010). Philimon is in love with photography, writing, reading, sharing new ideas and interacting with reasonable people for skills development.
