Breakfast Cereals

Break fast cereals are those cereals we usually consider for breakfast in the morning. A Cereal is any grass cultivated for the edible components of its grain composed of the endosperm, germ, and bran.

The Grains (Cereals) Group

The seven principal cereals grown in the world are wheat, maize, rice, barley, oats, rye and sorghum. Wheat became very popular because of the bread produced.

Although warm cereals like porridge and grits have the longest history, ready-to-eat cold cereals appeared around the late 19th century, and are most often mixed with milk (traditionally cow’s milk), but can also be paired with yogurt instead or eaten plain.

Fruit or nuts are sometimes added. Many cereals are produced via extrusion.

The different grains can be cooked and eaten whole, ground into flour to make a variety of cereal foods like bread, pasta and noodles, or made into ready-to-eat breakfast cereals.

Grain foods are mostly made from wheat, oats, rice, rye, barley, millet, quinoa and corn. The different grains can be cooked and eaten whole, ground into flour to make a variety of cereal foods like bread, pasta and noodles, or made into ready-to-eat breakfast cereals.

Why Make Own Break Fast Cereal?

Although homemade breakfast cereals may also be laden with calories (due to reasons such as added higher-calorie items such as nuts, added fruits, and even larger portion sizes).

We can better adjust our ingredients when making foods in the home, allowing us to make better and more healthful options.

Why Is Breakfast Cereal Important

It is an excellent source of carbohydrates. a significant source of protein. a good source of B group vitamins, including folate. a good source of many minerals, such as iron, magnesium, copper, phosphorus and zinc.

How To Make Cereal Healthier

Fiber helps regulate blood sugar, which ultimately can make you feel less hungry. Adding fiber-rich foods like ground flaxseed, oats, chia seeds, blueberries, and sliced apples with the skin on to cereal will make breakfast more nutrient dense.

The most common raw material used in traditional cereal is grain. The usual grains used are corn, barley, wheat, oats, and rice.

Hot cereals like oatmeal, as well as some cold cereals like shredded wheat, have no additional ingredients. Grain-based foods are very nutritious with many health benefits.
