Makerere University staff members and students have joined hands to help the Bududa landslides prone communities.
In an initiative dubbed “Aid Bududda Community”, the academicians aim at soliciting all the necessary support from good Samaritans in various institutions and families who are ready to help the people of Suume village which was massively affected by the recent landslides.
“We shall hold prayers in mosques on Friday as well as churches on Saturday and Sunday in Bududda in commemoration of the deceased and to ask for God’s intervention into the affected areas,” MUASA chairman, Mr. Deus Muhwezi told media on Monday.
Mr Muhwezi added that the Makerere University Academic Staff Association(MUASA) will make a research team to study Bududda enviroment and find out the major cause and permanent solution to mudslides in the area.
