Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) the leading National Humanitarian Organization in Uganda and a member of the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement is seeking to recruit dynamic, self-motivated individuals to fill the enlisted positions; following the support received from the Joint Population Program – financed by DFID through the World Health Organization (WHO) to Uganda Blood Transfusion Services (UBTS); to establish three new blood collection teams in Lira, Arua and Moroto Districts. Job Summary: The Senior Nursing Officer will be responsible for supervising the nursing care unit and supporting research activities.

Job Grade: UR 7.1
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages and accounts for all allocated resources.
- Plays a supervisory role in the provision of nursing care.
- Submits timely requests for essential equipment’s and supplies.
- Ensures equipment is secure, functional and well maintained.
- Participates in research activities.
- Imparts knowledge and skills to the staff supervised.
- Ensures that staff adheres to Professional Code of Conduct and Ethics.
- Counsels Blood Donors before and after blood donations.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- The applicant must be double trained at a Registered Level or its equivalent from a recognised institution; Member of the Nurses and Midwives Council and should have served at least three (3) years as a Nursing Officer.
- The ideal candidate should demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and analytical skills
- Excellent people management skills and culturally sensitive.
