The Independent Disciplinary Committee has awarded points to Makerere university for the aborted Kyambogo University vs Makerere University match because Kyambogo University failed to provide adequate security.
The Committee also ruled that Kyambogo University meets medical expenses of those injured and that Kyambogo University identify their students who participated in causing chaos before the match could be played.
The highly anticipated Kyambogo University vs Makerere University Nile Special Football League game didn’t take place as fans from both sides turned rowdy even before the game began.
Police fired live bullets and teargas canisters to disperse the fighting crowds at Kyambogo university main grounds in the game that was later abandoned.
