Job Title:  Office Assistant

University Research Co., LLC (URC) is a global company dedicated to improving the quality of health care, social services, and health education worldwide. With a non-profit affiliate, the Center for Human Services (CHS), URC manages projects in over 45 countries, including the United States.

About USAID SUSTAIN Project:

University Research Co., LLC (URC), a US-based public health organization working in Uganda since 2005, is implementing the USAID-funded Strengthening Uganda’s Systems for Treating AIDS Nationally (SUSTAIN) project. The project supports delivery of quality HIV prevention, treatment, care and laboratory services at selected regional referral and general hospitals.

Job Summary:  The Office Assistant will support the Administrative Assistant- Office Management in the provision of general administrative support to with the overall aim of ensuring smooth functioning of office operations and project activities

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  1. Office Administration:
  • Responsible for Office cleaning
  • Replenishment of toiletries
  • Office orderliness
  • Requisition for cleaning supplies & take accountability
  1. Management of refreshment of tea & water:
  • Serve tea throughout the day
  • Wash cups & other tea & water  related items
  • Maintain a clean environment at each tea station
  • Requisition for tea supplies & take accountability
  • Ensure constant water supply at all water stations
  1. Photocopying, Printing & Stationary:
  • Ensure timely requisition for related items & take accountability
  • Contact person for office photocopying,   stationery, scanning among others
  1. Perform any other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  

  • The ideal candidate for the URC USAID SUSTAIN Project should hold an A-level Certificate with relevant training in office management.
  • Two or more years office support experience and one year experience in project related work.
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Ability to work with an international/multi-cultural team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge with computer use

The Stanford Africa MBA Fellowship Program pays for tuition and associated fees (approximately US $140,000) for citizens of African countries with financial need who wish to obtain an MBA at Stanford GSB.

Stanford awards up to eight Stanford Africa MBA Fellowships annually.

Within two years of graduation from Stanford GSB, Stanford Africa MBA Fellows are required to return to Africa to work for at least two years in a professional role that contributes to the continent’s development.

Makerere University Business School Graduation list for 29th May 2015

Makerere University Business School (MUBS) will hold a graduation ceremony on Friday 29th May 2015.

1,186 Students will be awarded certificates, Diplomas and Postgraduate Diplomas in different academic disciplines.

The function will be presided over by Makerere University Chancellor, Prof. George Mondo Kagonyera.

The theme of the 10th Graduation is “creating employment and wealth through agriculture as a business”.

During the same function, the fourth class of Luzira inmates will be awarded Certificates.
