Key Duties and Responsibilities: The Immigration Officer Trainee will be report to the Senior Immigration Officer for performing the following duties:
- Processing travel documents, work and residence permits.
- In charge of border patrol.
- The Trainees will be compiling Immigration statistics.
- Perform investigations regarding immigration matters.
- Issuing of entry and exit visas.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Immigration Officer Trainee should be Ugandans who possess Honours Bachelor’s Degrees in either Information Technology or Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Systems design and Analysis or Statistics (Computing Option) or any other relevant qualification [Computing Option].
- The applicants should be highly results oriented with good code of ethics and a high degree of personal integrity
- Possess excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills
- Basic Computer knowledge
- Possess the ability to adapt to multi-cultural setting, innovation and concern for quality and standards, Self-awareness.
Age: Between 21 – 30 years
NB: The applicants for the Posts of Immigration Officer shall be required to:
- Pass the described physical fitness and health tests in accordance with the Laws of Uganda.
- Successfully undergo the immigration specialized training for a maximum of nine (9) months at Government expense as a pre-condition for appointment.
