Job Title:     Valuation Officer

Organization: Large Public Institution

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

Reports to: Senior Valuation Officer

Job Summary: The Valuation Officer will render support in the procurement of land and any other property required for infrastructure development and payment of compensation

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·         Participating in procurement of professional services for land acquisition activities

·         The incumbent will be consulting and dialoguing with land and property owners affected by construction works

·         Managing records, files, maps and other associated material;

·         Regular review of all feasibility study reports to ensure that land and property issues have been adequately addressed

·         In charge of monitoring and evaluating land acquisition and compensation programmes and activities

·         Processing all the identification and verification of documents in respect of land acquisition submitted for payment

·         Participating in contract management for assigned land acquisitionprojects.

·         Preparing and submitting periodic reports.

·         Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  

·         All applicants should be Ugandans holding Honors Bachelor’s Degrees in Land Economics or Land Management or Physical Planning; Urban Planning; Regional Planning; or any other relevant qualifications from a recognized University or Institution.

·         At least three years’ experience in Land Acquisition Environment in Government or a reputable organization or private practice.

·         High level of integrity, resilience and reliability.

·         Consults and encourages sharing of information within a team environment and across functional areas.

·         Highly proactive with knowledge of working with communities.
