A total of 1269 students have been awarded loans under the students loan scheme that was launched early this year.

2,109 had applied for the student loans and Kampala International university took the highest slots out of the 1269 awarded.

Makerere University 229

Kyambogo University 157

Ndejje University 136

Busitema University 101

Only students in the  13 public and private chartered universities were granted the loans.

The students loan scheme is financing students studying science related courses at the moment thought plans are underway to also include the arts students in the future.
