Professor Christine Dranzoa, Vice Chancellor Muni University

I have the pleasure to welcome our distinguished graduands and guests to this Historic, first graduation of the pioneer students and to the installation of the first Vice Chancellor, Muni University that happens to be myself by the grace of God scheduled for 4th November 2017.

The success of these amazing young leaders, the graduands is a land mark History. We thank God for His blessings and protection, this far. We implore Him to guide you as you transition to work life.

This first graduation marks our joint success with you the students, parents, government and many partners of the academic journey that commenced on the 1st November 2014, when the university gates were opened to you for the first time.

We therefore congratulate you for the successful completion of your undergraduate studies. Thank you for remaining truthful to your promises of creativity, loyalty, commitment, hard work while maintaining high standards of integrity, intellectualism and spirituality.

As you move forward to yet another level of academic and societal leadership, Muni University will always remain your academic ‘parent’. We are confident that you will continue with life long learning and marketing Muni University and yourself as the best amongst your peers.

The story of Transforming the youth is complete today in Muni University. Out of this group, 33 and 44  will graduate in Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Information System. Our students have not only been empowered technically with ICT knowledge, they have been groomed into young leaders and entrepreneurs  via courses in communication and study skills, ethics and peace, entrepreneurship and business management. It is for this reason that 80%  are already gainfully employed or self employed – hence, demystifying the long agony of “youth and graduate unemployment.” We are proud of you and the staff.

We are very grateful to H.E the President of the Republic of Uganda, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for establishing Muni University.

We acknowledge the support of Ministry of Education and Sports, Ministry of Finance, Planning & Economic Development, Ministry of Public Service, all line Ministries, the Parliament of Uganda, the Chancellor, Council, and Senate, our local and international partners, communities, MAYANK, parents and students for believing in us. Together, we can change the socio-economic landscape of Uganda and Africa through quality Higher Education.

We pledge our continued commitment. We have programmes for your continued professional growth and development. We will give personal touch, attention to facilitate your work and personal success.
Together, we will continue transforming lives.

Prof. Christine Dranzoa, Vice Chancellor Muni University
