About US:

Canary Hotel is a mid-size boutique hotel primely located in Kampala, Uganda. The hotel is an Oasis in the bustling city of Kampala. Tastefully furnished, all our 27 guest rooms offer the discerning traveller a host of facilities and most importantly, all rooms are equipped with double glazed windows to reduce outside noise.

Job Summary:  As our General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our hotel. With your exceptional leadership skills and extensive industry experience, you will oversee the day-to-day operations, drive growth, and create a remarkable experience for our valued guests.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire a diverse team to provide exceptional service and achieve outstanding guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Manage hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance departments.
  • Foster a positive work culture that encourages teamwork, professional growth, and excellence.
  • Build strong relationships with guests, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Keenly monitor industry trends, competition, and guest feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • At least five years of experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving financial targets and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations, revenue management, and industry trends.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for delivering personalized service and creating memorable guest experiences.
