How to control STDs

STDs are  Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), these include Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs), Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Candida, HIV/AIDS among others.

These can be transmitted through having unprotected sexual intercourse with an infected person.  According to Rebecca Masoro, a school nurse, STDs can also be contracted from sharing of basins and using the same urinals and toilets with people who are already infected.
“you need to be so conscious while in public toilets as STD and STI’s can also be got from bathrooms and toilets,” she says.

Signs of Sexually Transmitted Infections

Masoro notes that some of the signs include;

Itching of private parts

Discharge of smelly fluids

Rashes in the private parts

Pain when passing out urine.

“A number of people usually get these complications and keep them to themselves not until the situation intensifies. its very important  to visit a doctor in case of these signs to avoid worse situations.

How To Prevent STDs
1 . Masoro says you should avoid using dirty toilets especially in public places

2. Disinfect the toilet with soapy water before using it and for the good of others, pour water after.

3. Always use a condom to avoid contracting STDs.

4.For them not to spread further, get medication the moment you learn you have them.

5. Stop sharing things like basins, towels among others that can lead to the spread of those diseases.
