Makerere University will host its 76th graduation ceremony from February 24 to February 27, 2026.

The university management confirmed these dates in a statement released on Tuesday. This four-day event remains the primary highlight of the institution’s academic calendar.

Specific schedules and protocols for the ceremony will be shared with the public later.

In a related development, the university has pushed back the start of Semester Two for the 2025/2026 academic year. Students will now report on February 10, 2026, instead of the previously scheduled January 24.

This change follows a national directive from the Ministry of Education and Sports. The Ministry ordered all educational institutions to delay their reopening until early February.

“This adjustment is in response to the Ministry of Education and Sports directive to all Schools and Education Institutions to postpone re-opening until 10th February 2026,” the university statement noted.

The revised semester will now conclude on June 6, 2026.
