East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer works aiming at transferring knowledge to make vegetable production more profitable for farmers by equipping them with the tools they need to succeed: better knowledge and better agro-inputs. This can drive farmers’ demand for higher quality agro inputs and create new markets for input suppliers. It has actively formed a base across the world including: Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, The Philippines, Thailand, Tanzania and Uganda and expanding to Nigeria and Bangladesh where the company seeks to grow new
markets.

Job Summary:  The employee should be responsible for the Promotion of East-West Seed Uganda products in the whole country of Uganda (the region/ regions of the assignment will be determined by the Sales & Marketing Manager) by means of Demonstration in order to increase awareness of the brand name of each product and increase sales of vegetable seed in the respective area of assignment

Locate farmer’s groups and make an inventory of the growing areas, crops, and season, contact village leaders, find key farmers, and train/ advise farmers and customers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for promoting & introducing company products & technology (veg. seeds & new varieties) Plan and establish a demo depending on the area; thus through demonstration, you will introduce new technologies to farmers-especially in your trial like raised beds, spacing, fertilization, a spraying method, drenching, etc. Make an agreement with the farmer concerning field demo (techno. & commercial demos) varieties to be tested/promoted and possible arrangement/ sharing of cost. Submit a budget, a request cash advance (CA) for the monthly activities, and liquidate the expenses 4 days prior to making a new request for cash for the next activities.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Academic degree in agriculture or relevant course Minimum 2 years’ experience in crop protection, crop science, or soil science from a similar or related industry; exposure to regional operations is an added advantage Can communicate effectively in English (speak and write) Willingness to travel
