Job Summary:  The Sales Specialist will be working as Sales Specialist, reporting to Country Managing Director for Process Automation Business area, Energy Industries division based in Uganda, South Africa. You will be responsible for sales of products/systems/services within a designated market in accordance with strategy, building long term customer relationships and managing resolution to specific customer needs and issues.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promoting customer understanding of full product/systems/ services offering, and aligning to provide a solution
  • Creating added value for the customer and ABB and ensuring the successful outcome of transactions, contracts and proposals by using effective sales techniques
  • Ensuring efficient marketing activities and value proposition to customers
  • Identifying and driving the development of new market opportunities in the designated market and ensuring know-how sharing and cross-collaboration
  • Managing administrative procedures in sales processes, supporting collection, and project management activities when needed
  • Performing regular status reviews and proposing recovery plan(s) in cases of potential order shortfalls
  • Ensuring appropriate technical and financial aspects of offers, including prices and trading conditions

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in electrical engineering
  • At least five to seven years of experience in a technical/sales position in global industries
  • Good knowledge of customer products, applications, processes, contract, and risk management
  • Excellent skills in customer relations by showing a mature selling behavior and actively driving discussions and negotiations to the benefit of the business with customers
  • Highly motivated team-player with a collaborative, learning & solutions-oriented approach, and strong communication skills
