Students breathed in tire gas
Today the Police were playing hide and sick with the disgruntled Kyambogo University students. The chaos followed allegations that the Guild Speaker, Akena Allan had disappeared mysteriously after falling out with the Guild President, Buni Christopher.
Buni is accused of mismanagement of guild funds by a section of guild officials.
There are allegations that shillings 110m disappeared from the guild account.
Kyambogo guild government is divided into two camps.
One in favor of the guild president and those against the misconduct of Buni are rallying behind the speaker.
The situation was only calmed after rioting students ran short of breathing air-oxygen. They were forced to take to their kneels when Police started firing tire gas at the campus promises.
A few weeks ago, Makerere university Guild President, Ivan Kata was also accused of betraying his fellow students by conniving with the University administration for approving the new tuition fees policy that requires a student to complete 60% of the fees dues at the beginning of the semester.

For men, the skinny jeans fashion trend may have an unexpected side effect. High fashion has a cost and it’s not just on the price tag but skinny jeans may actually jeopardize your health.
Experts are warning that the surge of tight jean popularity among men especially is sparking a rise in painful testicular problems.
Medical experts, including Dr. Hilary Jones of UK television personality, have reported an increase in injuries resulting from wearing tight jeans.
The effects include twisted testicles, bladder, weakness, and even urinary tract infections.
Twisted testicles is a serious condition that occurs when tight trousers prevent the spermatic cord from moving freely meaning it twists and leads to testicular torsion which cuts off the blood supply requiring immediate surgery to prevent a gangrenous testicle.
Other dreaded side effects from wearing tight jeans are low sperm count and fungal injections. The advice is to make sure you leave plenty of room around the growing area so that your pants and trousers feel comfortable.
For women, wearing skinny jeans can increase one’s chances of developing a vaginal yeast infection.
Health experts say that tight jeans also increase the risk of nerve compression which can lead to tight or numb thighs to both men and women, health experts.
Eat Carrots To Prevent Stroke

Carrots are biennial plants which grow a rosette of leaves, the flowering stem grows to about 1 meter (3 ft) tall, with an umbel of flowers. Carrots are root vegetables, usually orange in colour, though purple, red, white, and yellow.
The health benefits of eating carrots
Prevent heart diseases: Researchers revealed that cholesterol level reduces by 11 percent if seven ounces of raw carrots a day is taken for thee weeks. High cholesterol is a major factor for heart disease.
Since regular consumption of carrots reduces cholesterol level, it is good to prevent heart related problems.
Prevent cancer: Beta-carotene consumption has been linked to reduced risk of several cancers, notably lung cancer. British researchers discovered that increasing beta-carotene consumption from 1.
7 to 2.7 milligrams a day reduced lung cancer risk more than 40 percent.
The average carrot contains about three milligrams of Beta-carotene.
In a study, researchers found that eating fiber rich carrots reduce the risk of colon cancer by as much as 24 percent. Another study shows that women who ate raw carrots were five to eight times less likely to develop breast cancer than women who did not eat carrots.
Improves eyesight: imperfection of vitamin A can cause some difficulty seeing in dim light. Since carrot is rich in vitamin A it is good for improving eyesight.
Stroke: Carrots eaten daily prevent the risk of stoke and its highly recommended that people with stroke problems should eat as much carrots as they can.
Diabetes: Carrots are good for blood sugar regulation because of the presence of carotenoids in carrot. Carotenoids inversely affect insulin resistance and thus lower blood sugar.

I fell in love with my best friend’s boyfriend
I had never had a boyfriend before, although my best friend had quite a few. One day, I was with her at her boyfriend’s house and she left for home to do some homework.
I was going to go home too, but her boyfriend “let’s call him Dan” said I should stay for a behind since we were all going to hang out together with my best friend.
So, after my best friend had left, Dan and I started jumping on the bed. Eventually, I fell over tripping him up, and he fell on top of me.
We hugged and laughed and then he brushed somehow out of my face. He told me I looked beautiful, kissed my forehead and then somehow, we were making out. I kept pushing him away, but he just said, “shh, it’s okay, she won’t find out.”
I gave in finally. We went on too far and ended up into oral sex.
His mum walked in the middle of my organism! She thought I was Dan’s girlfriend who had excused herself and left.
The next time my best friend and I were over there, his mum kept dropping hints.
It was awful. I felt like a bitch and that is how I lost my virginity to my best friends’ boyfriend.
Oh …that is love.
Makerere students form parallel Guild Cabinet
Dissatisfied students of Makerere University have set up their own guild executive after falling out with that of Ivan Kata.
The guild president, Kata is accused of conniving with the university administration in passing of the 60% tuition policy minus consulting the students who voted him into power. Kata is also accused of failing to account for more than 90 million shillings.
Under the new tuition policy, a student is meant to pay 60% of the tuition fees at the start of the semester and 100% by the end of the sixth week of the semester.
It’s from this background that a fraction of concerned students set up another elected 31 member guild executive led by Geoffrey Kasumba as their new guild president, Pamella Amollo as vice president, Paul Kinyera as the prime minister among others.
Last week some students demonstrated and petitioned the newly appointed University Vice Chancellor, Prof John Ddumba Ssentamu over alleged misuse of office by their guild president.
Besides the 60% tuition policy, the petition outlined other reasons such as the closure of the guild president’s office for eight weeks, failure to attend to students’ demands, misuse of the guild president’s car.
Cyriaco Kabagambe, the dean of students, however dismissed the new elected guild executive saying that it’s illegal and not known by the university administration.
The guild speaker, Lewis David said that the students’ concerns can still be solved expressing concern that the dissatisfaction has come at a wrong time of Exams. Students are preparing for end of semester exams set to start next week.
