Mbale city is one of the recent approved towns that were elevated to city status. It is aspiring to be the regional capital city of the region with fabulous and historical hotels.
But guests to Mbale city like Ultimate Media Consult who came to Mbale City recently, struggle to locate good hotels. They find themselves into poor hotels.
The ultimate media officials visited Mbale city on Tuesday 16th of march to train students of Islamic University in Uganda- IUIU in multimedia and digital skills but when they reached, they found themselves in poor hotel because they had no directions to good hotels.
Mrs. Karungi Zuurah one of the multi media trainers says that when they left Kampala, they reached Mbale late in the night and try to locate good hotels but failed to locate one.
They were forced to jump on boda-bodas to move them around from one hotel to another which costed them greatly in terms of transport and time
Our report around the Town to establish the status of the hotels in the city. In the survey, most of the historical hotels were found in Senior quarters; one of the city’s expensive residential quarter.
One of the hotels is the Mbale Resort Hotel located 2 kilometers along Bungokho road on plot 5

Dream Palace Hotel is another hotel in also located in senior quarters plot 7 on Bwayo road.
Wasike Nathan, the hotel manager and supervisor described their service as pocket friendly.
He says that the hotel single rooms, Deluxe double, Executive double and a twin room (2-3PAX) that come along with breakfast in the bed.
It also has Conference facilities, bar and restaurant and breakfast in bed, room mineral water, local taxes, internet access, free room service and daily housekeeping.
It offers accommodation of single and double executive rooms, single and double superior rooms and single and double junior rooms.

Nandah Abneri a receptionist at crown suites hotel says that the hotel has suites, guest rooms, restaurant, conference, gardens gymnasium, wireless internet, dstv, swimming, mobile money and business center.

Mount Elgon Hotel, the oldest hotel in the city is also located 2km from town on Masaba road plot 30 in senior quarters.
