About Job Role:  On behalf of our client, a fastest growing integrated conglomerate in sub-Saharan Africa, we are looking for competent, skilled, and experienced Finance Manager to work in Kampala. The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner, and that the financial statements are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The Finance manager will provide strategic financial guidance to senior management and other stakeholders to ensure the financial sustainability of the organization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Management

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions and prepare financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Manage the annual audit process and prepare all required financial reports

Strategic Financial Planning

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization’s growth and long-term sustainability.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management and other stakeholders to support decision making and planning.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify trends, and make recommendations to improve financial performance.

Risk Management

  • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures to identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
  • Manage the organization’s insurance policies and ensure adequate coverage.

Team Management

  • Manage and develop the finance team to ensure a high level of performance and productivity.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and accountability within the team.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to team members to support their professional development.
  • Business partnering with regional and commodity heads.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Master’s decree preferred.
  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred
  • Should have experience in Africa (Uganda)
  • At least five to seven years of experience in a related job role

Skills:

  • Experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
